Adam Englefield is one half of electronic duo, Blonde, who are a huge name in the house scene with regular exposure on BBC Radio One and international tours under their belt. Radio 1 DJ Greg James praised their music heavily on his dance anthems programme.
Blonde’s music combines house, elements of R&B, an occasional garage influence and a whole lot more. ‘It’s pretty hard to pigeonhole us. Our music is more about the vibe rather than the genre and I think that’s true about a lot of acts right now’ commented Adam Englefield, a former Access Bristol student.
The band first came to light when they premiered the track It’s You through Adam’s YouTube channel, Eton Messy, and nine months after were signed to Parlophone.
Featuring the vocals of Ryan Ashley, Blonde released their debut single Foolish in 2014.
Blonde have worked on a number of exciting collaborations including Glee actor Alex Newell, and in 2016, Craig David, on the song Nothing Like this.
Both agree that Bristol is a huge influence, with its multi-genre music scene and iconic artists such as Massive Attack, Portishead and Roni Size. ‘They’re just very talented people, it’s a really inspiring place and spiritually somewhere that you’ll always have a connection to’.
