success story Maya Gamble

Maya Gamble, a Music Management student at Access Bristol was the brains behind the Grime take over at Glastonbury!

Silver Hayes, the dance area at Glastonbury, is made up of 6 different stages. Maya had previously helped out here before, but for the 2016 festival she took the Sonic Stage into her own hands, making it the home to the grime scene for an all-day all-grime line up.

The stage saw the likes of Stormzy, Bugsy Malone and Lady Leshurr (also a former Access student) perform. Skepta even took some time out from the Pyramid Stage to drop in for a visit during Novelist’s set.

NME headlined the day, ‘How Grime won Friday at Glastonbury’. The Pyramid Stage saw Muse and Jess Glynne (another former Access student), while Disclosure and Bastille performed on the Other Stage – and yet Grime won!

Maya currently works as a city manager for DICE. This is an app which ‘is all about bringing you closer to the artists you love, and the nights out you’ll remember’. She has previously helped out with the infamous Dismaland, a temporary art project set up by Banksy.
