Misha B is a singer/songwriter and rapper who got through to the semi-finals of The X Factor where she was acclaimed for her powerful, soulful voice.
Throughout the semi-finals she was mentored and guided by ex-Destiny’s child turned successful solo artist, Kelly Rowland.
Her most memorable performance was her audition, where she performed her rendition of Aretha Franklin’s Respect and blew judges, Kelly, Gary Barlow, Tulisa and Louis Walsh, away.
Misha B studied Music Performance back in 2010 and since then has formed her own label, Emboom. She is also a joint patron of the National Diversity Awards. She says, ‘I’m so happy to be part of a generation that is now standing for equality and I feel honoured to be in a position where I can aspire others’.
Misha B also has a number of award nominations under her belt. She has been nominated for Best Newcomer at the MOBO awards, Best Breakthrough Artist at 4music Video Honours and Best Female Artist at the Official Mixtape Awards.
In 2012 Misha released her single Do You Think of Me which made it into the top 10 UK singles chart. That year for Misha she also went on to support American rapper and singer/songwriter Nicki Minaj on the UK leg of her Pink Friday Tour.
Following this, she headlined the halftime show for the American National Basketball Association game between the Detroit Pistons and New York Knicks in London.
Misha B is also quick to emphasise that ‘life is what you make it’.
