Computing is a key component of almost every business on the planet – can you imagine the last couple of years without it?! Not only that; the digital sector contributed nearly £55 billion to the UK economy in 2016 and it continues to grow, meaning more and more support is needed and jobs are continuing to be created to accommodate this progression. If you’re looking to join the future workforce in the computing industry, this Access to HE Computing course is an ideal starting point.

Upon completion of this pre-degree diploma, you will also have gained the qualifications necessary to progress on to university-level study.

WHAT WILL I BE DOING?

Using state-of-the-art kit and being led by industry experts, this course will deep dive into all aspects of the world of computing. You will gain knowledge on how to design, develop and test software applications (games, web apps, mobile apps etc.), explore programming in a range of languages – Python, C# and Javascript as well as whole lot of other skills including:

QUALIFICATION

Level 3 Access to HE Diploma in Computing, 60 credit qualification worth a maximum of 144 UCAS points.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

English and Maths GCSE or equivalent at 4 (Grade C) or above

FEES

Learners wishing to undertake an Access to HE course will be required to apply for an Advanced Learner Loan, which is how the course is paid for. We understand the concerns, worries and stress that comes with taking out a loan; however, Student Finance England will ‘write off’ any outstanding Advanced Learner Loan balances you owe for an Access to HE course once you complete a higher education course. Meaning, you do not have to repay it.
