Albert Gold is a soul/pop/alternative singer and songwriter. He also studied Artist Development at ACC London. Since finishing, Albert has worked with some incredible people in the industry, including Sacha Skarbek who has also worked with Miley Cyrus, Adele and Lana Del Ray.
My name is Albert Gold. I grew up singing in the church where I really was exposed to music and performing. Later on I decided to get into writing and being an artist and now I’m an independent recording artist.
I studied in 2008, which was a while ago! My mate was getting an interview for the college and told me about it. She knew I wanted to get better and meet more industry so she told me to join, and I did!
I really wanted to be a better singer, I wanted to build my confidence and also get feedback and learn how to write songs. I’ve always wanted to perform but was way to scared to get on the stage.
A lot of putting myself in the spaces of the industry to be honest. I just made sure I was in peoples faces at all times and when there was a chance to do a show I was there!
I knew I wanted to sing from the age of 13 it was just the only way I could express myself .
I’m dyslexic and school , for me was hell so I ran to music and I haven’t turned back since.
I’ve had two EPs out and I’m putting out the third as a Trilogy through Fierce Panda! The new single is called satellite which I made with Sacha Skarbek. The EP will be out on the 10th July called MOOD. I’ve put a lot into this EP really excited for it.
I’m also doing a mini collaboration EP with a new artist called Drew the First and a collaboration project I’m doing with an amazing producer David Glenhill which is called Chilli Palmer. So, a lot of work is coming out this year and next.
I put a song with Bakermatt which has had about 5 millions streams. I also get a lot of messages from people who love the track all over the world. That has been the best highlight!
What advice would you have for anyone who wants to be in the music industry?
Do not let anyone tell you , you can’t do something, keep pushing and never let the words get into your head. There are ups and downs for sure. I’d say build yourself up and find the right team of people and a manager that understands you and the art you love. I definitely found that. And never stop.
