At ACC, we love seeing our students go on to using their talent and skills to make a career for themselves and for our former Artist Development (AD4) student, Jordan Phillips, his journey to making a career in music is skyrocketing!
You may have seen the 20 year old appear on your screens on ITV’s The Voice this year and so far he’s taken each round in his stride and progressed onto the Knockouts.
Jordan impressed new judge, Meghan Trainor, in his blind audition with a cover of Tom Grennan’s, ‘Found What I’ve Been Looking For’. Coupled with his down to earth, say it as it is nature, Meghan went onto praise Jordan how real he is and how she can see big things for the former Access Creative College student.
Next up was the battles where Jordan went head to head with Brooke Scullion. The duo tackled Adele’s ‘Water Under The Bridge’. Meghan Trainor had a tricky decision to make on who to put through to the Knockouts and with Tom Jones commenting on how he could see the pair making a record together, the stakes were high!
Trainor chose Brooke to carry on her journey on Team Meghan but former X Factor runner up, Olly Murs, saved the day by using his only steal to snatch up Jordan and put him through to the knockouts!
Speaking to Access Creative College, Jordan said:
‘Being on The Voice has been so amazing. I’ve learnt so many new skills and I’m surprising myself throughout the journey. Finally I can tell myself Jordan, you actually can sing’
Jordan Phillips’ very first Voice audition was held at Access Creative College, Manchester.
‘I remember sitting in the foyer at Access Creative College and seeing on the board that The Voice auditions were being held at college, so I thought ‘hmm maybe I will go for that’. I’m so glad I did because so far it’s going incredible!’
We’re so proud of Jordan’s achievements so far on The Voice and the ACC family will be backing him all the way! Make sure you tune in each week to catch another glimpse of him on ITV.
Jordan Phillips completed our Artist Development college course in 2019. The course has seen Jordan and so many other students have gone onto incredible things including: Ed Sheeran, Rita Ora, Mullally, Beth McCarthy (Another previous contestant on The Voice) and so many more!
