Songwriting, production and recording sessions

Saturday 7th December | 10:00-4:00pm

You will work alongside industry professionals; Julie Thompson, Dr Adam Moore, Luke Abbot and Mike Campbell at the newly built Access Creative Studio. You will have the opportunity to fulfil different roles within the session including top liner, composer, session player, engineer, mix engineer, programmer and producer. Along with our industry professionals you will compose and produce a song. This will give you a chance to experience what our degrees have to offer and our links to industry.

Julie Thompson is an artist, songwriter and vocal producer. During her twenty year career she has collaborated with many top international artists, developed young artists for major labels, written two solo albums, performed on some of the worlds biggest stages and featured on countless releases including a Grammy nominated album.

In a career spanning over 30 years, Mike Campbell has worked with every kind of recording system, from analogue tape, primitive sequencers and 8-bit samplers to the latest DAW technology. He has gained sound engineering credits with an incredibly wide range of artists, from Mick Jones’ Big Audio Dynamite to Malian bluesman Ali Farka Toure. As a producer he has overseen albums featuring soul legend Isaac Hayes and jazz titan Courtney Pine.
