COMPUTING AT ACC

So you want a career in computing?

Do you want to work in the computing industry one day? Well, why not start by studying it at college.

The computing industry is set to revolutionise every aspect of our lives. From artificial intelligence and machine learning to virtual reality and blockchain technology, the possibilities are endless. As the demand for cutting-edge solutions grows, so does the talent to drive that!

There has never been a better time to look into a career within computing, whether you aspire to work within software development or the emerging world of Web3, why not start your computing career with ACC?

T Levels or Technical Level Qualifications were first introduced in September 2020 as an alternative to A Levels and other 16-19 qualifications including apprenticeships. T Levels are for 16-18 year olds who are continuing education after GCSEs.

A combination of workplace and classroom based learning

T-Level course curriculums are built in partnership with industry employers. This means that what students are studying is the latest in industry practices and methods, and teaches them the required skills to hit the ground running in their desired industry.

T-Levels get students outside the classroom, gaining experience in the real world. A built in component of this unique qualification is an 80/20 split between classroom and industry placement. That means students spend 45 days of the course on work experience with a relevant industry employer.

This is a win-win for employers and students. Students get valuable, hand-on experience and a chance to test out their newly learned skills in a professional setting, and employers get an early look at new talent coming into the sector.

ACC was one of the first college’s in the UK to run the T-Level in Software Development. This course will outline the key elements of software development, followed by giving you the chance to specialise in your chosen area of software development.
