A creative leader who does not only make, create, and develop their music but can also adapt and oversee production choices within both live and studio settings. Helping artists choose material and develop song styles, structures, and musicians' sonic palettes. A good producer can flow between various styles and develop their musical exploration and utilise their creative skills to influence and develop others.
Responsible for creating music that enhances the emotional experience of a film, TV programme, or game with a well-known signature tune.
Sound Designers are responsible for obtaining sound effects for a specific production. They set up the sound playback equipment, record and edit the required sounds.
Creating specific moods/atmospheres by selecting and performing specific tracks, based on an ability to read and understand the audience. The ability to manipulate pre-recorded music and blend tracks together seamlessly during live performances.
Responsible for balancing the various parts of a recording to create a final mix, enhancing the emotional impact of the recording. Resolving any frequency conflicts between different sound sources giving each element of the recordings its own place within the context of the overall regarding.
Can be done freelance or via private tuition, or as part of a private company or a state institution such as a college or secondary school. Can lead to university lecturer positions based on level of education. Usually requires degree level education and has reasonable earning potential.

Builds and optimises artificial intelligence systems, such as machine learning models and neural networks.
Provides technical support, maintains hardware and software, and resolves IT issues for users or organizations.

This internally assessed course is delivered and evaluated by teachers through planned projects. These combine practical tasks, like creating tracks, remixes, compositions, and recordings, with written reports and presentations, involving both individual and group work.
Our bespoke professional development programme aims to empower you to take your next steps into your future career. We achieve this by providing you with a three phase programme of lessons, projects and experiences designed to give you as much exposure to industry as possible.
If you are 16-18 and don’t already have GCSE Grades 4 or above in mathematics and/or English Literature or Language, it will be compulsory for you to do a GCSE level maths and/or English course alongside your studies with us. Learn more here.
