Interviews and Enrolment

Information on what to expect in your interview and when you enrol.

How can I book an interview?

At the end of your application form, you will be able to choose your interview date and time (by selecting from an online calendar). All interviews now take place via Google Meet, which means you don’t need to come into the college, you can be interviewed from the comfort of your own home, or wherever suits you best. If you don’t book an interview straight away you will be sent reminder emails with a link to make your booking.

Our Admissions Team in Manchester will send you a link via email, all you need to do is click on the link at the agreed date and time – it’s as simple as that! Interviews tend to last around 45 minutes and we want everyone to feel as relaxed and confident as possible, although feeling a little nervous is natural.

The good news is, you will only be talking to one person, and it will be more of an informal chat. We have a dedicated team of interviewers, whose job is to talk to applicants all year round. One of them will talk you through the process and put any nerves you may have at ease – they’re a friendly bunch!

It’s the ideal opportunity for us to find out more about you and for you to find out more about us. We will send you details of what you need to prepare for your specific course but generally speaking, we will chat to you about your course and why you want to study with us. We’ll want to see some examples of work, and we will talk to you about the entry requirements and any other conditions you may need to meet to be offered a place.

We want all our learners to have the best possible chance of success, so we will also talk to you about any support you may need, to make sure that we are able to put this in place. If you require any support during your interview, or have any other questions, please let us know beforehand by emailing [email protected].

Visiting colleges is a big part of making the right decision about your next steps. If you’ve been offered a place at the end of your interview we will invite you to an exclusive Taster Event, so that you can get a real feeling of what life at Access Creative College is like. These events take place throughout the year until the end of summer, so there should be one coming up within a few weeks of your interview date. If you want to visit the college before your interview, you can book onto one of our Open Events.

How and when to enrol

All our new learners will enrol after GCSEs results have been announced. In 2024 GCSE results day is Thursday 22nd August, and we are planning our main enrolment period to run from Friday 23rd August until Friday 30th August.

We will confirm more details of how you can enrol nearer the time, but to make sure you start your course on time, please try to avoid booking holidays or making other commitments that would make you unable to complete your enrolment during this period.

Late enrolments can be arranged, where places are still available, but we would advise everyone to aim to be in class for their induction sessions to give them the best chance of success on the course.
